Sports have long been celebrated as a universal unifier—a realm where divisions dissolve and humanity’s best values take center stage. Yet, while the stories of healing, unity, and triumph are real, the systems behind the games often mask (or even reinforce) deeper inequities.
Seeing & understanding generational & ancestral sacrifice internally & externally has led me to two words I live by; Purpose & Obligation. Resonating and witnessing underrepresented and underserved individuals in various communities - the more I learn how sports impact society, the more I am compelled to share.
While sports matter more than ever today, we must look beyond the surface, understanding that true progress requires structural change. Athletes can spark movements, but they cannot bear the entire burden. Leadership, hiring practices, and access to play must evolve to reflect the diversity of the world—and those who play the game.
